The majority of the classes offered at the Kali Collective are vinyasa flow based. This is a particular, unique style that allows for creativity and dynamic movement paired with the rhythm of your breath. Sequences will be different each class and you will most likely run into new poses and transitions all the time! Vinyasa is great for students who are looking to find movement, creativity, playfulness and a deep connection to their breath and body.
Vinyasa 1 - Foundations & Gentle
This is the perfect place to start if you are new to yoga or simply wanting a slower paced practice. Vinyasa 1 classes are accessible to all practitioners, regardless of experience. Other aspects of yoga such as meditation, breathing techniques and yoga philosophy will start to be introduced. Expect to have poses explained carefully and a slow paced practice.
Vinyasa 2 - Flow
If you are looking for a fun, creative, dynamic class, Vinyasa 2 is for you! Expect to be guided through flowing transitions and a wide range of poses in a creative, unique sequence. Vinyasa 2 classes will also start to introduce optional arm balances and inversions. More dynamic breathing techniques and philosophical concepts may be explored. This class is best if several Vinyasa 1 classes have been taken prior and you are comfortable with basic yoga poses.
Vinyasa 3 - Power
This strength based class is designed for intermediate to advanced students. Basic, familiar poses will not be broken down and the pace may be faster than level 1 and 2. Creative transitions will be introduced and more advanced arm balances and inversions will be explored. A basic knowledge of breath work is useful for this class as other, more dynamic pranayamas as well as philosophical concepts will be taught.
Designed to enhance your yoga practice, or any other physical activity you enjoy, and help you develop a deeper connection to your centre, our new Core Flow class takes core techniques from ballet, pilates and yoga, and infuses it into a full flow body workout.
Looking for more balance in your life? Yin/yang takes the best of both worlds, the energy and the calm and puts it into one great class. Expect about half of the class to be vinyasa 1 - 2, with the other half being yin style yoga. All levels welcome.
Yin yoga is a beautiful practice that requires poses to be held for several minutes with the intention of getting into the connective tissue. The majority of the class will be seated and taught by candlelight to create a very relaxing, nurturing environment. Light meditation and breath work may be introduced. The benefits of yin yoga are to destress, get quiet, and create more space and flexibility in the body. All levels welcome.
Yoga nidra consists of a guided meditation and breath work to allow you to become deeply relaxed. You will be laying down in a quiet, calm environment. Bring layers and socks to make yourself comfortable! Benefits include the release of muscular, emotional and mental tension as well as creating stillness in the mind. All levels welcome.
Pilates is an amazing movement technique that helps improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body. It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance. This is one of our favourite forms of movement and an absolute must in your health regime. This class is perfect great for all levels.
Kula is the sanskrit word for community, which we want YOU to be a part of! If you'd like to try our studio, this is a great way to get a taste of what Kali Collective is all about. This class collects donations for Simon Community Scotland and to help us sponsor a child in India at Ramanas Orphanage.
These classes are like getting a big cuddle! Expect to be supported by props as you are taken into a slow paced, quiet and calm yoga class. This class is perfect for anyone who is looking to destress or ground themselves and is a great way to start cultivating body awareness and get familiar with the benefits of yoga. All levels welcome.
Core Flow & Barre
No ballet experience required! This class takes work out techniques from ballet, pilates and yoga and infuses it into a full body workout. Expect to laugh, learn new moves and discover muscles you never knew you had! All levels welcome.
