Delve into the art of deep rest in this two hour Restorative and Yoga Nidra workshop. You’ll learn about the neuroscience behind the ancient practice of Yoga Nidra, a deeply relaxing guided meditation (carried out in savasana) that reduces stress and promotes better sleep. The first half of the workshop will involve restorative yoga postures (heavily supported by props) and breathing exercises to help prepare your body and mind for the practice of Yoga Nidra. The remainder of the workshop will involve being guided through a meditation in the most luxurious of savasanas, allowing for total relaxation of body and peace of mind. Leave feeling refreshed, revitalised, and equipped with breathing and relaxation techniques for you to use at home to improve your quality of sleep. The workshop will take place in Kali’s warm room (~26 degrees) for maximal comfort and cosiness!
Claire started practising yoga halfway through her PhD in Psychology. Not only did she find that yoga brings peace of mind and relaxation of body, she also noticed how this physical practice strips away self-doubt and replaces it with an “I can” mentality. This mindset inspired Claire to train as a fitness instructor during the final year of her PhD and subsequently complete her 200 hours Vinyasa Teacher Training in India with Steph Wall. Claire loves the capacity that yoga has for creative expression and sees each practice as a chance to harmonise mind and body by getting imaginative with movement. Her classes offer the space to quiet your mind, connect to your breath, and give yourself a whole lot of love.
