Living Yoga Wisdom *
Experiencing the Wisdom of Yoga through Practice.
There is a Wisdom waiting to be remembered.
The pathway is Yoga.
The experience is the Practice.
The wisdom we are seeking is inherently available to us, yearning to be remembered. Yoga is one of many ancient traditions offering practices to bring this wisdom to life within us. By connecting with these embodied practices, we gain the felt sense of a deep knowing within. The tools offered in this program will be constellation points for you to connect the dots in your own way. By moving away from academical study of Yoga and into experiencing it, we can gain insights only discovered through practice.
The essence of this offering is to introduce different practices and ways of being to your life so that yoga becomes not just something you do, but something you Live.
Guided by the Rhythms of Nature…
The flow of our year long program is guided by the seasons. Each season, we will turn towards Yoga and Ayurvedic practices that nurture the qualities expressed in nature. With each season, we will also take inspiration and wisdom from myths, yoga philosophy and books that support the internal season that we are tending to.
Held within our container will be following offerings:
Prerecorded meditations, mantras, pranayama, Nidras and asana
Live in person classes on Wednesday nights (also live streamed) and Saturday mornings (in person only)
Seasonal in person (also live streamed) gatherings
Monthly book recommendations & discussions
Monthly online gathering for wisdom sharing and dedicated space for tending and practicing
New moon journal prompts
Seasonal Ayurvedic recommendations of herbs, foods and practices
Year long weekly exploration of The Bhagavad Gita with guest Greeshma Karoth
You will also be asked to keep a self practice journal and reflect on daily home practices with themes/intentions offered
During our time together, we will unravel the wisdom of yoga philosophy and mythology through the practice itself. There may be discussions around these themes as a way to lay a foundation, however the wisdom comes to life not through intellect but through experience. Major themes from the traditional texts such as the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Siva Sutras, The Bhagavad Gita, the Yoga Sutras and the Epics will be offered.
Living Yoga Wisdom is for committed students looking for ways to deepen their relationship with Yoga in a way that’s not about the books but about the Practice. Together, we will discover ways to incorporate Yoga practices into our daily lives through both the physical practice itself as well as lifestyle practices. There will be support for you to discover your own insights, however this program leaves space for your own intuitive curiosities. For example, you will be offered a library of recorded practices each season and it’s up to you when or if you want to do them based on intuitive callings. Nothing in this program is mandatory, it is up to you how you want to unfold within our container.

What YWS students are saying…

If anyone is interested in Yoga Wisdom Studies they may have the same reservations that I had. That I didn’t want to teach, that I couldn’t hold advanced poses the way teachers do and that it was a whole year of study. Fortunately for me I overcame these reservations and followed my curiosity into a world behind the poses. A world where gods and goddesses are explained in a fun way. You form bonds of friendship with a group of people who are equally curious and together you learn about the muscles and bones that are used in each pose. There are lots of physical workshops which bring together the stories and the poses. If an old fart like me can get through the physical stuff then there is nothing to stop anyone from signing up. Be curious, get involved. Gain a greater understanding of all that is unseen behind each pose. You will not regret it.

I highly recommend this course for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of yoga and take their physical practice to the next level. The sequencing of the lectures and physical practices really allowed me to take the theory I learned and apply it to my mat. I have much more awareness in my body and have cultivated a daily practice this has really improved my general well-being and sleep. It’s been an absolute pleasure to learn from Steph. Her passion and dedication to yoga shines through her teaching and she makes learning a really accessible and enjoyable experience. I’ve also met a really great bunch of people in the yoga wisdom studies group and the connections I’ve made have been a lovely added bonus of the course!

I entered that course without knowing if actually I would have the time to complete it. I did a few training with Steph, and I know how passionate she is and how she communicates her love for this tradition so well. So I am now just over half of this course, and I am LOVING it! Even if I can't attend all lessons and lectures, I catch up when I can, on my own time, and still feel like part of the Kali community, which is beautiful. The advanced asana practices are amazing. It's very long, but so good to practice for so long together because we really go into the depth, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I feel very safe and challenged. The anatomy module I did was for my 300 hours teaching training, and this has definitely had a very positive impact on me, my body awareness and my own Yoga practice and teaching. Yoga history is just great. Steph explains it so well; there is not one module that she is not passionate about. Philosophy and mythology of Yoga are absolutely wonderful modules. Also, a last point is that the people who attend this course are all very nice, kind, and open. So a huge thank you to Steph, for being so generous, so cool, compassionate, funny and the Kali Collective will always stay a very special place to come. We feel loved and valued.
